Suzanne, Linda and Lynn called this evening and in the conversation I found out I have been wrong on how Cochise finished in some of the burro races this summer. He did finish 6th and but he also had a 5th........!!!
Muzzy finished 6th to Cochise's 5th in that race, but he also finished 2nd in one of the other races. When Lynn told me about it, I remembered it, Muzzy even led for awhile as I now recall. One of the effects of getting older is having trouble remembering things, but you'd think I'd remember a 2nd place finish, that's pretty good...!! Of course a lot of times I can't remember why I go from one room to another so I guess I'm lucky to remember at all.......LOL
They are hoping the truck will get fixed tomorrow as planned and they will be able to leave early Tuesday morning.
We are now closed for tours until October 19th. There's a lot of behind the scenes prep going on with races, parades, or really any type of entertainment. The entertainment might only take minutes, but there could be hours of preparation to make it happen. There's not going to be a lot of time between now and the race in Tombstone next Saturday. Then a few days later they'll load up donkeys and head to California for a race the next week-end. I also have a car race the 17th...........so..........it just seemed to make sense to cancel all tours until all this hyper activity is over.

Early Tues. morning must mean after every one walks in the trailer like ladies and gents. Right?
Interesting idea Ellie, BUT.............LOL Actually they do pretty good considering you're trying to put 10 animals in and have to start with one. Of course personalities have to be factored in, they have friends and not so much friends and act accordingly when putting them in a small area. It would be a lot easier to have them all in a small pen, open the back of the trailer and they all hop in........LOL
I didn't think it worked that easy, it was just a thought or dream or wish maybe.
Are you ok?
We're fine, it's been a long busy week-end and John and I aren't really in the middle of things. Suzanne, Lynn and Linda make it easy on us. John was a gopher yesterday, at the race, but all I did was sit in a booth selling fuzzy donkeys. But we're both moving slow this morning. LOL I don't know how people run up to 13 miles and are still on their feet. In my teens and 20's I doubt that I could. One of the racers Bill is in his early 70's and I think he usually runs the long courses and he finishes seems to always finish the race............!!! WOW
Thank you. I was never a runner and at 75 some days I do well to walk in the morning. Glad everyone got in safe. Let the younger ones do the leg work and you take it easy for a while. You have worked hard all summer trying to keep things going. Maybe the heat will break soon and all of us will feel better. It has been so hot here in Florida but the weatherman said that is why the storms have missed us and goe toward the west more. This has been a busy storm season but we have only had wind and rain so far this year. Glad you are ok.
Wish we had some of your rain, our monsoon this year was a "non-soon"
